Something about Depression

“Depression is the feeling of being trapped.”

Depression is not you. It lives inside you like a disgusting parasite, leaches off your spark and keeps you away from doing and enjoying things. Depression is judging yourself harsher than anyone else could. Depression is more common than people think. Feeling down from time to time is a normal part of life, but when emotions such as hopelessness and despair take hold and just won’t go away, you may have depression.

Depression is feeling like you are drowning and each time you come up for air something pushes you down. Depression is a label that many people do not want to be associated with. Depression is acting confident to hide your true feelings. It is the yearning escape in life. Depression is crying in a room on a special day. Depression is not thinking about others. Depression is being fearful to start a new day. Depression is calling yourself sick because you lack energy. Depression is being silent. Depression is occasionally laughing a little more than everyone else because it’s been long since you found something funny. Depression is not showering for a week or making any effort in your physical appearance. Depression is overcompensating by smiling a lot because you don’t want people to see the sadness and negativity.

The people facing depression can get back to a better version of themselves by accepting there is a problem and it should be addressed. An example could be of the people suffering from relationship goals.

Because the people are doing it, society is doing it, so should you.

When you are in a dilemma situation to carry on with your marriage and your brain cannot figure out what is wrong or right then you seem to live a lie.

This may be the beginning of depression. The factors that make you vulnerable to depression are feeling of loneliness and isolation and lack of social support. Recent stressful life experiences,family history of depression, marital or relationship problems, financial strain, early childhood trauma or abuse. Alcohol or drug abuse are the key points that increase the risk of depression. Unemployment could be another add on.

How is depression caused?

The action of brain depends on the chemical hormones called neurotransmitters like Dopamine which is released when we get a reward or feel  pleasure . Serotonin is the hormone for well being and happiness. Glutamate is an Excitatory hormone, GABA is an Inhibitory hormone. Endorphins are the natural pain killers and provide us comfort. The depression is scientifically the shutting down of release of dopamine and serotonin which are responsible for the pleasure and well being



  1. Accept something somewhere is wrong.
  2. Meditate
  3. Read positive attitude quotes
  4. Exercise and stay healthy(gym/yoga/dance class)
  5. Talk to your loved ones about your dilemma. Tight hug from them could be the best cure.
  6. Therapies
  7. Don’t lock yourself in one room. Surround yourself with people who give you positive vibes.
  8. Avoid getting in any kind of drugs and alcohol.

Always remember that brain cannot handle conflict.

So, accept and solve the situations.
